The Honda Civic 2022 for Europe it is already a reality. Although it follows in the footsteps of the sedan we met a few months ago for the United States, it is distinguished from it by an angular tailgate and a unique rear end with a spoilers integrated. Also new are new taillights, connected by a thin LED strip that follows the contours of the spoiler.
Together, the new Honda Civic hatchback shows one more aspect fresh, sporty and exclusive. The eleventh-generation compact draws inspiration from timeless elements of Honda design. These include a low, wide stancea low beltline, clean and sophisticated details and a clean and airy cabin.
The new, stiffer body structure also contributes to further advances in the Civic’s driving refinement, ride quality and handling.
Inside there is no lack of digital instrument cluster 7 or 10.2 inches (depending on the finish) and a new center touch screen 7 or 9 inches depending on the version. The latter is compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play wireless. At the modularity level, the backrests of the rear seats are folding (60:40).
A single engine for the 2022 Honda Civic in Europe
The mechanical option chosen for the Old Continent combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine with two other electric ones. Thanks to this, it achieves a total power of 184 hp and a maximum torque of 315 Nm. It includes a 72-cell battery that should guarantee sufficient electric mobility on small urban routes (as in the Jazz or HR-V).
Although the European homologation has not yet passed, the firm hopes to achieve emissions of less than 110 g/km of COtwo. This implies an average consumption below 5.0 l/100 km, which is a very contained figure for a car with such a dose of power.
