The observation is quite clear, the iPhone 12 has been selling very well overall since their release. However, this hides real disparities between the different models marketed by the Apple brand. Thus, last January, we were already returning to the note published by analysts at Morgan Stanley according to which Apple could reduce the production of the iPhone 12 mini in order to be able to produce more iPhone 12 Pro.
A new iPhone 11 at reduced cost in 2022?
This time it is the turn of a JP Morgan expert, William Yang, to make his predictions. According to him, Apple plans to produce more iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and even iPhone 11 to meet consumer expectations. Conversely, and given relatively weak demand, the company could stop production of the iPhone 12 mini by the second quarter of 2021.
The author also provides other information and according to him, the Cupertino company could offer a renewed version of the iPhone 11 at reduced cost in 2022. This same year, an iPhone SE 3 should also see the light of day in the first half of the year.
You have to take all this information with a grain of salt, but it makes sense. Feedback from supply chains in the past hinted at the success of the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. The difficulties of the iPhone 12 mini were also noticeable as early as last November.
