A few hours ago, Apple stopped signing iOS 15.0.1. This means that this version of Apple’s mobile system is no longer available for download.
On the one hand, those with an iPhone or iPad running iOS 15.0, or iPadOS 15.0 or earlier can no longer update to iOS 15.0.1 or iPadOS 15.0.1 (only versions 15.0.2 are accessible). On the other hand, those who have updated their mobile devices to a beta version of iOS or iPadOS 15.1 can no longer downgrade to a version older than iOS / iPadOS 15.0.2.
Why push users to iOS and iPadOS 15.0.2? Because these new versions of the two Apple OS address major security vulnerabilities, one of which is particularly deep. In addition, various bugs and malfunctions are corrected in the process.
Apple obviously has every interest in ensuring that its systems are as secure as possible. The company does not want to leave any possibility to its users to install old versions more prone to attacks of hackers, spyware and other malware. Hence these regular shutdowns of support for old versions of iOS and iPadOS.
Have you updated your device to iOS 15.0.2 or iPadOS 15.0.2? No bugs or other dysfunctions to report?
