Apple would work on an iPad equipped with an M2 chip

Apple Silicon M2 WWDC

The keynote for this WWDC 2022 was very rich in software announcements, including presentations of the iOS 16, watchOS 9, and macOS Ventura operating systems. But Apple has not forgotten the hardware with the launch of its M2 chip, which is notably offered with a new MacBook Air.

Two insiders confirm the good news

According to Ross Young, analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants, the Cupertino company is also working on a new 14.1-inch iPad Pro equipped with an M2 chip. According to this expert, who has reliable sources in the Tech giant’s supply chain, the release of this device could be in early 2023, although he could not confirm this information.

The insider is not the only one to put forward such an idea, since the leaker Majin Bu did the same this Wednesday. According to him, this new 14.1-inch iPad Pro would have an M2 chip and 16GB of memory. Of course, these rumors are currently impossible to verify and we must therefore arm ourselves with patience. However, confirmation by two different sources seems to support this hypothesis.

However, we will wait for Apple to confirm the news, surely during a next Keynote. To wait, and if you missed Monday’s event, you can read our very complete summary which covers all the announcements from the Cupertino company.
