Brad Pitt revealed that he suffers from prosopagnosia, also called “face blindness”, a rare disorder characterized by the inability to recognize people’s faces. In a recent interview with the magazine GQ, the actor acknowledged the impact the condition has had on his confidenceparticularly when it comes to social contexts.

Pitt revealed that he has a hard time remembering new people or recognizing their faces, and worries that people will think he is “distant, unapproachable or self-absorbed.” In fact, prosopagnosia makes him feel ashamed, and although he has never been officially diagnosed, he is sure he has it. “Nobody believes me!” he says he when he talks about his condition, adding that he wants to “meet another person” with whom to share his experience.

This is not the first time Pitt has insisted he has prosopagnosia.“A lot of people hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them,” he told Esquire in 2013. “Every once in a while, someone gives me context and I say, ‘Thank you for helping me.’ But there are people who hate me because they think I’m disrespecting them.”

“There was a year where I just said, this year I’m going to face it and ask people where we met, but it just got worse. People were even more offended and interpreted my problem as a gesture of vanity or egomania. But it’s a mystery to me I just can’t remember a face.”Brad recounted.
