New vehicle registrations in Chile are going very badly this year 2020. The health crisis is causing an absolute disaster in sales and worst of all is that the situation is far from being considered as controlled, with many daily cases that place the country as the eighth-most affected in the world, and that only has 19 million population.
Returning to sales, in these first seven months of 2020, a total of 114,210 units have been delivered which represent a significant decrease of 47.1%. The data must be qualified since it includes commercials and pickups. If we focus only on passenger cars and 4 × 4, stays at 79,994 units, that is to say, a 48.4% decrease.
The battle between Chevrolet, Kia, and Suzuki continues without pause, and although it contained levels, they still move in fairly close figures. The range of the Japanese manufacturer has always enjoyed great acceptance in this market but the lack of units of Baleno, Swift, and Celerio has slowed things down.
