Eduardo Moreno Laparade placeholder image, nephew Cantinflas, died on the afternoon of this Saturday, February 20, due to complications from COVID-19.
The news was confirmed on Twitter by the actor Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo.

The nephew of the so-called Mimo de México and president of the Mario Moreno Cantinflas Foundation contracted the virus at the beginning of the year. At the end of January he had to be intubated due to the consequences it caused in his body.
A few days ago, the actor, too, had undergone a tracheostomy to reduce his dependence on an artificial respirator.

In 2014, Moreno Laparade won the rights to 39 films and the name Cantinflas, after a long legal battle with Mario Moreno Ivanova, the son of the late actor.
