The ukrainian Jan Koum, who is co-founder of Whatsapp, acquired in 2019 a spectacular mansion in Malibu for $ 100 million, while in recent days he decided to extend his empire and buy the house next door for $ 87 million dollars.

The property, which until recently belonged to the Bosnian entrepreneur Diana Jenkins and is located in the exclusive neighborhood of Paradise cove, was released in May 2020 by $ 125 millionBut the lack of stakeholders led energy drink founder Neuro Drinks to reconsider her position.

Before the operation was finalized, Jan and Diana were involved in a legal fight after the latter decided to hire a landscaping company to cut a hedge located on the border of their properties, arguing that it obstructed their view of the sea .

Her decision caused great annoyance to the WhatsApp co-founder, who decided to sue her, in July 2020, for $ 70 thousand dollars, since he considered that he had done it with the sole intention of increasing the value of his home.

The residence, of 13,693 square feet of construction and nestled on nearly three acres, it has six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms.

It also has a kitchen, dining room, living room, main room, TV room, dance studio, recording studio, among other rooms.

Outside there is a guest house with three bedrooms, swimming pool with spa area, waterfall, koi pond, tennis court, guardhouse and extensive green areas.

Before it belonged to Diana Jenkins, who bought it, in 2005, for about $ 25 million dollars, the mansion passed through the hands of the executive Barry diller and by the country music singer Kenny rogers.

It was precisely during Kenny Rogers’ stay that the house underwent one of its most striking and controversial transformations, as he decided install a funicular that will help you get to the beach quickly, since the property is located on a cliff.

His controversial decision led him to pay a fine that was around $ 2 million, since he did not request authorization to carry out these works.

The funicular moves to an area where there is a cabin with retractable roofs facing the sea, a bar, a barbecue area and a fire pit.
