According to the Asian media UDNApple would have already given the green light for the assembly of a limited series of iPhone 14 whose goal is to test the devices in real conditions before launching a larger scale production. Depending on the feedback obtained on these products, the manufacturer will know if it is still necessary to improve its mobile or if it is well suited to marketing.
Several subcontractors are currently in charge of this task. Among them, Luxshare who, although closely scrutinized by investors, would not have succeeded in signing a contract for the iPhone 14 Pro. Their name is of course still at the hypothesis stage, but several technical data concerning them have leaked such as the size of the screens or the arrival of a periscopic lens on the back.
No change in the lead of suppliers
Still according to the same source, foxconn would thus remain the main service provider responsible for assembling the iPhone 14 Pro. The company has however been strongly criticized in recent months, especially when journalists shed light on deplorable working conditions for some of the group’s workers in India.
I’iPhone 14 Pro Max, in particular, would be manufactured exclusively by Hon Hai. It’s expected to be the most expensive model, with a large 6.7-inch display, triple rear camera with LiDAR, and ProMotion technology with 120Hz refresh rate.
Coming out this fall?
Usually, Apple has a habit of unveiling its new high-end iPhones around the end of third trimester every year. A keynote is then organized in the San Francisco Bay Area for the occasion, but lately its online broadcast has not been accompanied by physical spectators because of the coronavirus pandemic. We don’t know if the situation will happen again or not in 2022.
The iPhone 14 could by then be accompanied by a virtual reality headset, second-generation AirPods Pro and also laptops with proprietary chips.
