Tim Cook Apple Park

This Thursday, Tim Cook spoke at the presentation of Apple’s quarterly results. During this meeting with investors, the boss of the Tech giant was also asked about a major question: does the Cupertino company plan to acquire large companies soon.

“Buying to buy is not in Apple’s culture”

Tim Cook’s response was very clear: he does not rule out buyouts, but for that there will have to be a real strategic plan behind it. Most of the rumors lately have been in the service sector, and two major companies have been cited as potential targets for Apple: Electronic Arts and Netflix.

Tim Cook therefore specifies that his company ” constantly monitors the market to make possible acquisitions and that the tech giant could well buy a big company, if that makes sense. But Apple does not buy just for the pleasure of buying, according to him, it must also allow ” generate revenue “.

However, the manager insisted on recalling that the current strategy is rather to acquire small businesses and individual talents who come to strengthen the company through their skills: “ So far, we have made small acquisitions of intellectual property and people. I wouldn’t rule anything out for the future. »
