During the day, we had the opportunity to get up close to the Madrid new Lexus LC 500 Cabrio Convertible, a vehicle that represents all the values of the Japanese firm and stands as the flagship of the company. The new LC 500 Cabrio, which will arrive at the end of the year, it is able to combine daring design with surprising features and abundant technology.
On an aesthetic level, the front end features a powerful rendering of the Lexus grille, surrounded by chrome on three sides and a 3D mesh design. L-shaped LED daytime running lights to seem to underline the innovative LED headlights. Aerodynamics also plays a role in the LC 500 Cabrio’s exterior design to help improve aerodynamic stability and cooling.
The rear has been redesigned and is unique.
As the main novelty, the LC 500 Cabrio has a canvas hood up to four layers whose design tries to recreate the coupe’s roofline. Can be opened or closed in approximately 15 and 16 seconds respectively at speeds up to 50 km / h. The hood will be offered in black, being able to combine with an elegant bodywork for which 11 colors will be offered.
Already inside, Lexus engineers have put a lot of effort into creating a seductive and attractive atmosphere for the driver, with a seat for the belt and moldings that help reduce turbulence. The chassis has been reinforced and the suspension has been tuned, providing greater rigidity and up to 650 adjustments. It has a weight of 2,035 kg. and a combined WLTP consumption of 7.9 l / 100 km. There will be no hybrid option and the engine sound is completely natural.
The icing on the cake is the atmospheric 5.0-liter V8 engine with 477 hp (351 kW) at 7,100 RPM and 540 Nm maximum torque at 4,800 rpm. It is associated with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen differential that sends all the power to the rear wheels, being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than five seconds and reach a point of 270 km / h.
The Lexus LC 500 Cabrio will be available in one Luxury finish really equipped, as we have already seen. The special edition will be offered for a limited time Regatta Edition, inspired by the company’s brand new LY650 yacht and with an exclusive paint scheme. There will only be 20 copies in our market.
