To celebrate the 94th birthday of the Queen Isabel, the Royal House shared a recipe of cupcakes of chocolate made by The Royal Pastry Chefs.

So if you are celebrating a special occasion during isolation, why not enjoy some «cupcakes real »? Of course you can do them later and at any time.

This recipe is for about 15 cupcakes, approximately.

Ingredients for the cupcake:

– 15 g of vinegar.
– 300 ml of milk.
– 50 ml of vegetable oil.
– 60 g of butter (melted and cold).
– 2 eggs.
– 5 ml of vanilla essence.
– 250 g of flour with yeast.
– 75 cocoa powder.
– 300 g of powdered sugar.
– 10 g of baking soda.
– 100 g of white chocolate chips.
– Cupcake packaging or cupcakes.

Ingredients for the butter cream filling:

– 90 g of high percentage dark chocolate.
– 100 g of butter.
– 125 g of icing sugar.

Ingredients for the cake sponges – (serves approximately 15) 15g vinegar 300ml milk 50ml vegetable oil 60g butter (melted and cool) 2 eggs 5ml of vanilla essence 250g of self-raising flour 75 of cocoa powder 300g caster sugar 10g bicarbonate of soda 100g white chocolate chips cupcake cases Ingredients for the buttercream topping: 90g of high percentage dark chocolate 100g butter 125g icing sugar Option to also use Royal icing, instead of buttercream: Royal icing available pre made in shops Add food coloring to create different colors Cake sponge method: -Preheat the oven to 150 C -Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and bicarbonate of soda into a mixing bowl -Whisk the eggs in a separate jug, with the vanilla essence, melted butter, oil, milk and vinegar -Slowly add the wet mixture into the dry mixture, little by little -Ensure the batter is smooth with no lumps -Finally add the chocolate chips (alternatives could be nuts, dried fruit) -Lay the cupcake cases onto a tray -Use a met al spoon to equally divide the mixture into the cases -Bake for around 15-18 minutes, take out of the oven when golden and springy on touch -Leave to cool Buttercream icing method: -Cream the sugar and butter together, until light and creamy -Add in the warm melted chocolate -If you have a piping bag to hand, pipe the icing on the top of cakes for decoration (otherwise gently use a teaspoon or small spatula to ice) Royal icing method: -If decorating with royal icing, roll the icing out and cut into circular disks -Lay the disc over the cupcake and mold to required shape We hope you enjoy! #RoyalBakes 🧁

Preparation of the cupcake:

– Preheat the oven to 150ºC.
– Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking soda in a bowl.
– Beat the eggs in another bowl with the vanilla essence, the melted butter, the oil, the milk and the vinegar.
– Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry one.
– Make sure the dough is smooth and smooth.
– Finally, add the chocolate chips (if desired, another option may be nuts or other nuts).
– Pour into the cupcake packages placed on a baking tray.
– Use a metal spoon to divide the mixture equally.
– Bake for about 15-18 minutes and remove from the oven when they are golden and fluffy to the touch.
– Let cool.

Preparation of the buttercream frosting:

– Beat the sugar and butter together until smooth and creamy.
– Add the melted and warm chocolate.
– If you have a pastry bag handy, place the icing on top of the cupcakes for garnish (if not, use a teaspoon or small ice spatula and decorate gently).

** For those who have an opportunity, they can be decorated with “royal icing”, which is sold pre-made in stores. Vegetable dye can be added to it to make different creations and shades. To use it you have to unroll it and cut it into a disk. Then place on top of each cupcake and mold according to the desired shape.
