The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks of Mexico (Cofepris) authorized the use of Pfizer’s vaccine against Covid-19 in emergencies, making it the fourth nation with this endorsement.

The news was released by the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, who celebrated the news. “The good news is: the evaluation process has concluded,” he said at a conference. “This is certainly a reason for hope, for tranquility,” he considered.

The New Molecules Committee met on December 11, where its 24 members voted and gave a favorable opinion, unanimously, for emergency use, “he explained.

Cofepris has ruled the authorization for emergency use of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine as appropriate, in order to be used in the National Vaccination Policy against the SARS-CoV-2 virus for the prevention of Covi-19 ″.
