It is not uncommon to see Apple change the colors of its iPhones when a new model is released. When the iPhone 13 arrived on the market, for example, the manufacturer abandoned purple, black and white in favor of the trio starlight, Midnight and Pink. But the purple from the previous generation may be about to be resurrected, according to a rumor that we owe to a user of the social network Weibo.
What’s more, this time the shade in question could become more or less deep depending on the ambient light. Understand that this will likely be more than one print bright than matte, which so far comes as no surprise. Indeed, such products have already seen the light of day at Cupertino with, for example, “jet black” marketed in September 2016.
If that wasn’t enough to change the design, Apple would also like reconsider the angle of its housings so as to match it with that of the rear photo module. A choice after all quite logical, the Californian brand being renowned for this kind of consistency since Jony Ive gave it the fame that we know.
At the same time, remember that the edges between the slab and the shell would be thinner (by about 20%). Consequence: an even higher size/diagonal ratio, with potentially a better fullscreen experience than today. But be careful, because only the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max would be affected by this improvement. Users of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max – the name is only a hypothesis – will not be entitled to it, according to stolen industrial diagrams. However, we bet that few will tell the difference to the naked eye, at least the first time.
Finally, still according to images published on Weibo, it is the rear flash that would be modified. Apparently, the issuer now only relies on a single LED instead of two now.
This could be seen as a risk for shots taken in the dark. But other rumors think that the shutter of the iPhone 14 Pro will also be updated to capture more light: the circle is complete.
