New Macs with silicon processor are long overdue

Tomorrow will be the keynote California Streaming, where Apple should unveil the iPhone 13 but also the Apple Watch Series 7. However, it is not the only devices that would emerge for the occasion, according to many rumors. Some indicate that Cupertino will also present the third generation AirPods, several tablets and computers powered by its proprietary OS.

Among the latter, we would find above all the second sixteen-inch MacBook Pro, succeeding the one released at the end of 2019 with the great commercial success that followed. This time, however, the machine will have a home CPU. His name is still unknown but could approach M2 Where M1X. What’s more, the chip also has a chance of being integrated into a Mac mini.

Not for now?

According to Mark Gurman, however, it is possible that Apple will not formalize its new Macs on Tuesday evening. And for good reason: a second conference organized especially for them and for the iPads would take care of it, “in a few weeks“. The journalist has not said more for the moment, but as we are already reaching mid-September this suggests that the event would be planned for October.

If so, it will not be the first time Cupertino has chosen to split its ads in this way anyway. In 2020 already, we were entitled to three keynotes, the last of which took place on November 10. A strategy that seems to have borne fruit, with quarterly results in great shape according to the most recent figures.

With the large format, Apple could also announce a small MacBook Pro which will then be the second not to include an Intel processor. This would not be its only asset, since the format would also be revisited with a fourteen-inch screen instead of the current thirteen. Moreover, little is known about it except that it is of course Monterey which will equip the device.

Finally, it is the MacBook Air that should be updated. He too will obviously owe his performance to an Apple SoC, as for the rest of his technical sheet, it will be necessary to wait until D-Day to find out.
