Apple has quietly made a change to its support program for MacBook Pro 13 ″ with problematic backlighting.
Previously, affected devices could undergo free repair for up to 4 years from the date of purchase. Apple has just extended this period to 5 years.
Remember that affected models are as follows :
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, four Thunderbolt 3 ports)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
If you have one of these two MacBook Pro 13 ″ and the latter displays a dysfunctional backlight resulting in a switching off of the lighting or a display by bright zones on the bottom of the screen, you can take advantage of this program of free repair.
And this, therefore, until 5 years after the date of purchase.
Take your machine to an Apple Authorized Reseller or Apple Store to begin the repair process.
