Open Seathe popular market of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) which reached a valuation of USD $13 billion in January this year, warns users about the phishing by email after a data breach.

Open Sea made the warning today in a press release and through its social networks:
“An employee at our email provider, http://Customer.io, misused his employee access to download and share email addresses with an unauthorized external party.
Email addresses provided to OpenSea by users or newsletter subscribers were affected.”

Be careful if they contact you!
Open Sea said that malicious actors may try to contact customers of Open Sea through emails from domains that look like OpenSea.io, as OpenSea.org either OpenSea.xyz.
The scale of the security breach seems huge. “If you shared your email with OpenSea in the past, you should assume that it was affected.” the company said, adding that it is working with Customer.io in an ongoing investigation and has reported the incident to the police.
More than 1.8 million users have made at least one purchase through the network ethereum in Open Seaaccording to data collected by Dune Analytics and shared by Techcrunch.
Email newsletter management platforms and the software of customer relationship management (CRM) seem to be a weak point for crypto companies, since leaks of this data continue to occur with high frequency, says Coindesk.
In March, hubspot, a platform similar to Customer.iowas hacked and affected BlockFi, SwanBitcoin, NYDIG Y Circle.
The names, phone numbers, and email addresses of users of these platforms were leaked to an outside party.
