macOS Monterey 12.5.1
Apple has just rolled out iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1, but not only. Indeed, at the same time the Apple firm also released macOS Monterey 12.5.1 whose objective is the same, namely to better protect you against possible hackers. The two flaws filled here are also the same as those that affected iPhone and iPad users, on the side of the kernel and WebKit.
To install a macOS update, just go to the menu System Preferences > Software Update then click on Upgrade now. As this is a patch intended to better defend your computer against attacks, it is strongly advised to download this version as soon as possible on your equipment. No additional functionality is apparently included, so the risk of a bug, which sometimes worries with other versions, is minimized.
For watchOS 8.7.1, it’s a little different because here, even if Cupertino mentions the case of a security update on its site, the notification received by users simply mentions a bug fix. This concerns the Apple Watch Series 3, which tended to restart unexpectedly until then. As a reminder, this model will unfortunately not be compatible with watchOS 9 when it is released this fall. The update is therefore essential here too.
To download watchOS 8.7.1 on your Apple Watch, go to the Watch app on your iPhone and choose General > Software Update.
