In January, Apple announced the Shot on iPhone Macro Challenge inviting users toiPhone 13 Pro to share their best shots taken thanks to the camera’s telephoto lens. The competition was open to all, so participants from all over the world tried the adventure. Today, we finally know who will be highlighted on the Apple brand’s billboards.
The winners are Guido Cassanelli (Argentina), Hojisan Chongqing (China), Jirasak Panpiansin (Thailand), Prajwal Chougule Kolhapur (India), Ashley Lee, Trevor Collins, Tom Reeves, Abhik Mondal (USA), Marco Colletta (Italy) and Daniel Olah (Hungary). The keys to a good shot
To capture great macro photos, Apple recommends get closer to the subject up to two centimeters at most. You also have to focus on the center of the shot, while the ultra wide-angle can be used up to a 5x zoom but not more. Of course, using third-party accessories and editing software can also help.
Among the winning works are ice water, the pistil of a flower, a spider’s web imprinted with dew, the veins of a leaf, a strawberry dipped in soda and snowflakes. So many elements that it is difficult to immortalize without having a specific lens.
iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max?
The iPhone 13 Pro, precisely, can count on a photo system of twelve megapixels in the back. This incorporates a sensor with ƒ/2.8 aperture for macro, but also a wide-angle with ƒ/1.5 aperture and an ultra-wide-angle with ƒ/1.8 aperture and 120-degree field of view. . With the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the diagonal increases to 6.7 inches, which offers more surface for previewing the shots. However, you have to pay 100 euros more to afford this model, which does not offer more power on the processor or RAM side. However, 4K in ProRes is only available on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
