We already have here the renewed Audi a8, a model that comes with a more aerodynamic design, especially in the front and rear, and that uses state-of-the-art technologies.
With this update, the flagship of the brand with the four rings is presented with an even more representative exterior design. The basis of the Singleframe grill is now wider And it has chrome angles that increase in size from the bottom and that adorn the grille. The side air intakes are more vertical like the headlights.
The rear is dominated by extensive chrome elements, a customizable rear light signature with digital OLEDs and a continuous and segmented light strip. The diffuser insert in the bumper is delicately accentuated and redesigned with horizontal stripes.
Among its sporty details, the Audi S8 features four flow-optimized circular tailpipes, a characteristic feature of the brand’s S models.
From the basic finish, Audi offers its customers the chrome exterior package and, for the first time in the A8, the new S line exterior package. The latter gives the front a dynamic touch and differentiates it even more from the basic version.
The look is even more defined with the black style pack. The A8 color palette includes eleven possibilities to choose from, including the new District Green Metallic, Firmament Blue, Manhattan Gray and Ultra Blue. They are also new to the Audi A8 five matte colors: Daytona Gray, Florette Silver, District Green, Terra Gray and Glacier White. With the Audi exclusive program, the customer can choose any color for his car.
The design changes hardly alter the dimensions of Audi’s flagship in the luxury saloon segment. The new A8 has a 3.00 meter wheelbase, and measures 5.19 meters longd, with a width of 1.95 meters and a height of 1.47 meters. The S8 is about a centimeter longer.
According to Audi, Digital Matrix LEDs use DMD technology (digital micromirror device) and are comparable to a video projector. Each headlamp contains approximately 1.3 million micromirrors that scatter the light into tiny pixels, allowing the light beam to be adjusted with the utmost precision. Thanks to this technology, a new function of lane and orientation lights is incorporated for driving on the road. In this case, the headlights emit a carpet of light that illuminates the lane with particular intensity.
The new A8 is equipped as standard with OLED digital taillights. When ordering, you can choose between two lighting signatures for the rear light clusters (three in the case of the S8). Together with the assistance systems, the rear lights with digital OLED technology have a proximity indication function: if another vehicle approaches from behind within two meters, all OLED segments are activated.
The seats are upholstered with leather Valetta as standard. As an alternative, Valcona leather is offered with the possibility of choosing the new Cognac Brown color. A novelty is the sustainable microfiber material Dinamica for the door panels, which is also optionally offered for the trim of the pillars or the headliner.
The optional air quality package includes an ionizer and a perfume function. The MMI touch response operating system of the Audi A8 is based on two displays of 25.6 cm (10.1 inches) and 21.8 cm (8.6 inches) and on the voice control system with voice recognition.
The audio system Bang & Olufsen Sound SystemDesigned for the most demanding, it brings 3D sound to the rear seats with a high level of quality. A 1,920-watt amplifier operates the 23 speakers, and the tweeter lenses are electrically activated on the dash.
Driver assistance systems The Audi A8 has some 40 driver assistance systems. Some of them, such as the Audi pre sense basic and Audi pre sense front safety systems, are part of the standard equipment.
