Some initiatives have proposed that, during the Ethereum Merge, scheduled to run on September 15, the network be forked. Faced with this possible situation, several companies have begun to decide which network to stay on. Now, Bored Ape has made the decision to stay with the Ethereum PoS (proof of stake) network considering it the original Ethereum network.
The statement came from the developer of this collection, Yuga Labs, who expressed the intention to recognize only NFTs (non-fungible tokens) than in Ethereum PoS or Ethereum 2.0.
It should be noted that if there is a fork, the accounting is duplicated. That is, the NFTs (non-fungible tokens) that exist in Ethereum before the Merge will exist in all forked networks, thus doubling their existence. Since some NFT collections are based on exclusivity -in the case of Bored Ape there are only 10 thousand copies- this makes them support and recognize only one of the forks.
The Merge, at the user level, will not mean any change for those who have Bored Ape NFTs, since the change will take place at the protocol level. Users will be able to send and receive NFT seamlessly just like they did before the Merge..
Yuga Labs then joins platforms such as Circle (creator of USD Coin) and Tether, who confirmed that they will only recognize Ethereum PoS once the merger is executed, as reported by CriptoNoticias.
