Presented at Apple’s last conference on the sidelines of WWDC, the MacBook Air M2 was the last product unavailable on Apple’s store. Since last Friday the Apple brand has opened pre-orders for this computer with a revised design.
While the first figures are rather interesting for Apple, which seems to have achieved good sales in the heart of summer, the first models of MacBook Air M2 are expected for Friday. We should have hands-on and user reviews over the weekend.
The MacBook Air M2 is coming
As a reminder, the MacBook Air M2 is available today at a starting price of €1499. For 100 € more, it is also possible to buy the Pro version of this new computer from the Cupertino company. During their presentation at the launch of WWDC, Apple explained that these computers were evolutions of the models presented at the end of 2020 with the M1 chip.
If the MacBook Air had not been entitled to other developments since, this is not the case for the MacBook Pro which has had two other models in addition to the 13-inch version with the M1 chip released in November 2020. The Apple brand has indeed offered a new model, available in both 14 and 16 inches and with a more complete choice of chips.
A MacBook Pro not so interesting?
With the M1 Pro or the M1 Max, these MacBook Pros are quite capable of competing with the latest MacBook Pro M2 in terms of performance, but they also have major advantages in connectivity. On the two M2 products, Apple has been quite sparing in connectivity, and we only find two USB-C ports and a jack on the sides of the two laptops.
As regards the MacBook Air M2, the first deliveries should therefore arrive by the end of the week. If you have not taken part in pre-orders, but are interested in this device, stocks should be available on launch day in Apple Stores and at brand-approved sellers.
