The Honda CB300R was born almost four years ago as part of the Neo Sports Café family. This includes its flagship CB1000R, the A1-worthy CB125R and the mid-weight four-cylinder CB650R. Today the company shows us the details of the Honda CB300R 2022. Distills all the excitement of two wheels in a lightweight format.
It represents an important step for any young or beginner motorcyclist. The CB300R is really much more than a “big” first bike after a 125cc. It offers a gratifying response and sensations, both from the engine and from the cycle part. In addition, it lacks the weight, cost and license complications of a larger displacement motorcycle.
This excellent entry to Honda sports a style true to the concept of design naked Neo Sports Cafe of the company. It openly shows the mechanical part in black. The trimmed tail, on the other hand, is barely there, supporting the driver and passenger seats separately. The seat incorporates a new upholstery with a revised thickness.
Both the driver and passenger footrest mounts are aluminum. A LCD instrument display brings together all functions. Shows speed, engine rpm and fuel level. The gear indicator now highlights negative for the 2022 model. The warning lights are arranged on top.
The full LED lighting – including the indicators – gives you an image premium and contributes to mass centralization. The headlamp displays a personal dual light bar design. The upper one for the short beam and the lower one for the long beam. The rear light is extremely thin. It is available in four color options.
The Honda CB300R 2022 at a technical level
The Honda CB300R now features a Showa inverted front fork ‘Separate Function Fork Big Piston’ (SFF-BP) of 41 mm. Added to it is a slipper clutch and the EURO5 homologation for your 286cc liquid-cooled engine. This compact four-valve DOHC single-cylinder engine is a little joy.
The maximum power of 22.9kW reaches 9,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 27.5Nm delivered at 7,750 rpm. New for the 2022 model, a slipper clutch allows for super-smooth gear changes and controls rear wheel bounce under quick downshifts and hard braking. The gearbox is 6 speed.
For reduce maintenance costs – an important factor for younger riders – the engine is also designed with a minimum of moving parts. Details like low-friction piston rings, high-density core radiator and iridium spark plug help increase fuel efficiency.
can tour more than 320 km with a tank (consumption of 30.2 km/l). Its light weight (just 144kg curb) and 49.6% front / 50.4% rear weight distribution give the superstar an immediate performance advantage. The frame combines pressed and tubular steel for a finely tuned balance of stiffness that provides great response.
Braking is controlled by a 296mm hubless floating front disc. It is activated by a Nissin 4-piston radial mount caliper. At the rear, by a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper. Both are modulated by a 2-channel ABS. The system works through an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) to have a precise distribution.
