We are certainly still quite a long way from the release of the next iPhone 14 which should be effective next September. But that doesn’t stop us thinking about what’s next. Thus, according to a comment published on the South Korean platform Naver, this new smartphone would carry a record RAM.
The user speaking under the pseudonym “œils1122” indeed claims that it will contain 8 GB of RAM. He cites supply chain sources in his message and says he was able to confirm that the mass production schedule for components is just beginning to accelerate.
Apple follows in Samsung’s footsteps
So what do you think of this prediction? As our colleagues from MacRumors remind us, it seems quite credible and corresponds to that of Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities. The latter thus estimated at the end of last year that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models would be well equipped with 8 GB of RAM.
If this is confirmed, it would be a nice evolution compared to the 6 GB of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro. As far as the non-pro iPhone 14s are concerned, it seems unlikely that they will carry less RAM, but we have no more information on this subject.
For Apple, it would also be a way to catch up with its competitor Samsung, whose smartphones already have 8 GB of RAM since the launch of the S10 in 2019.
Anyway, the predictions are starting to refine around this next iPhone model. To cite just one example, we recently mentioned the possibility of seeing an e Sim arrive in 2022. If you are impatient to find out more, you can find our section listing all the articles on the iPhone 14 here.
