The iPhone 14 losing ground against another smartphone?

iPhone 14 Plus

Apple would have reduces assembly rate iPhone 14. We are talking here about “classic” models, that is to say equipped with a 6.1-inch screen but without the triple rear photo sensor. These are the most affordable of the collection released in early September, at a price of 1,019 euros minimum against 1,329 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro or 1,479 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

In all likelihood, the core set is experiencing a lower success than expected, in favor of the Pro versions. The information comes to us straight from the Asian media IT Home, who would have spoken with a source from Apple’s subcontractors and ensuring that Foxconn had to dismantle five production lines as a result. The maneuver would have taken place in Zhengzhou, a city of more than ten million inhabitants in China and where the company has its quarters.

Two versions affected

When we talk about the “iPhone 14”, we sometimes also mention the case of theiPhone 14 Plus which offers an almost equivalent technical sheet, with the difference that its screen is larger (6.7 inches). However, it turns out that this product also seems to be struggling to convince the public, as was the case last year with the iPhone 13 mini. IT Home does not specifically mention it here, however.

What the iPhone 14 lacks

Beyond the photo sensor, what the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus lack is also the absence of a ProMotion refresh rate of one hundred and twenty frames per second. This provides better visual comfort in streaming or in video games. The panel of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is also able to switch to mode Always on to display important information without draining the battery.

Another key difference is the all-new Dynamic Island, which has been winning over critics since its arrival in place of the notch. The result is not only a larger space for the display, but also the ability to read its notifications with less distraction than before. Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro are powered by the A16 Bionic chip, which is not the case with the basic iPhone 14 taking over the processor of the iPhone 13 Pro.
