the recap of the fourth day in video

WWDC 2022 visages colorés

The Worldwide Developer Conference is about to end this Friday. Yesterday, several training sessions for creators of iOS apps were organized for the occasion by Apple. The video below, published in English, provides an update on these tips, particularly with regard to the use of SwiftUI to customize the iPad interface.

On Thursday, participants were also able to learn more about the advantages of this programming language for apps UIKit or on the latest advances in Vision, which makes it possible to recognize faces or animals. Very handy for augmented reality apps or third-party photo editors, for example.

SharePlay in the spotlight

WWDC also provided a better understanding of the possibilities of SharePlay, a feature that arrived with iOS 15 and allows you to watch TV+ series or listen to music together. With the update to iOS 16, this tool goes even further and can also share games, sounds or activities in the Messages app.

With this, users will also be able to find out directly which apps are already installed on their iPhone or iPad and which are compatible with SharePlay. This thanks to FaceTimewhich now highlights them.

For Apple, SharePlay is thus seen as a real “gate“, bringing people together via their phones even if they are hundreds of miles apart.

Choose your words well

Finally, Apple answered many questions about the formulation to adopt when creating buttons and other UI elements. Adequate text guarantees a better and more fluid navigation experience between menus, which is sometimes more difficult to find in the competition (Android).

Tomorrow is the fifth and final day of the Worldwide Developer Conference. Internet users can expect information about background tasks with SwiftUI, tests with xcode Cloud or PDFKit changes.

In the meantime, you can also install the first beta of iOS 16 which arrived this week. However, this is only accessible to developers and may contain serious bugs: caution.
