It is the project of many of those who spend hours in front of the computer. Is it better a gaming chair, an office chair or a car seat? I personally believe that a car seat will always be the ideal choice, however its high weight and its “adaptation” make it difficult to incorporate it into an office.
Today we have learned that BMW has given a gift to its riders of the WorldSBK. As you can imagine, the two pilots of the team BMW Motorrad WorldSBK, Tom sykes (GBR) and Eugene Laverty (IRL), they spend a lot of time in the saddle of their BMW S 1000 RR.
Despite the fact that their job is to ride a motorcycle, the riders spend a lot of time planning sessions with the teams and to be very comfortable, BMW has given them – instead of standard office chairs – some 100% original BMW M sports seats made in Munich.
The two seats used by Sykes and Laverty are optional equipment for the BMW M4 Competition, with Merino leather covers. They weigh approximately 30 kilograms each. They were converted into chairs at the BMW Research Center in Munich, by Alois Widbiller, Head of Seats for Systems Integration and his team.
It took the team approximately 60 hours of work to convert the special model for the BMW M4 Competition into an office chair.
Sykes and Laverty received their new chairs through Dr. Markus Schramm. The BMW Motorrad boss took the opportunity to wish them and the team a successful restart of the 2020 WorldSBK season.
How do you see these office chairs? Would you make a hole in your desk?
