When it was released in April 2020, the second iPhone SE was a great success thanks to a much more affordable price positioning than the other models of the same brand. This success, Apple would already like to repeat it: the device that will succeed it should arrive in the first half of 2022, which seems to confirm a new report from the Taiwanese media. DigiTimes.
The source indeed affirms that several subcontractors would be ready to honor orders placed by Apple, and which unlike those of the iPhone 13 would not have been revised downwards. The names of the suppliers in question are not specified, but we know that most of them are located in Asia. As for the number of deliveries planned, it should rise to several tens of millions without hesitation.
Assumed technical sheet
The iPhone SE of 2022, according to some rumors, could be entitled to a display of 6.1 inches compared to 4.7 currently. However, it is possible that these are the technical characteristics of its successor, which would therefore arrive in 2024. As for the processor, if Apple does not depart from its habits, it should be a chip already seen in a high-end iPhone previously. The iPhone 12 and its A14 being the benchmark here.
Supported by 3 GB of RAM, the iPhone SE 3 would run on iOS 15, but it is likely that it does not take advantage of all the features seen on iPhone 13 so as to clearly differentiate the two ranges. Moreover, we do not know much about this device except that its marketing would focus on the month of April or even March.
The format of the third generation iPhone SE should follow that of the previous version, with guidelines similar to that of the iPhone 8. So don’t expect to see sharp sides like on the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 13. The home button would also still be there, with an integrated fingerprint sensor.
And even if the diagonal is lengthened, the notch would not be in the program since the biometric unlocking by facial recognition would remain the exclusivity of the more expensive iPhones.
Are you going to succumb to this smartphone? It may be the last with Touch ID, or with a Lightning charging socket, with Apple already thinking about everything wireless.
