After showing us the Honda Civic 2022 for Europe, today is the turn of the Honda Civic Sedan e:HEV. While following in the footsteps of hatchbackis distinguished from this by a less pronounced roof drop and a unique rear end with a new spoilers. The rear lights are also new, betting on sportiness in this RS finish.
Presented for now only for the Thai market, it is not ruled out that it will finally reach Europe. The eleventh-generation sedan draws inspiration from timeless elements of Honda design. These include a low, wide stancea low beltline, clean and sophisticated details and a clean and airy cabin.
The new, stiffer body structure also contributes to further advances in the Civic’s driving refinement, ride quality and handling.
Inside there is no lack of digital instrument cluster 7 or 10.2 inches (depending on the finish) and a new center touch screen 7 or 9 inches depending on the version. The latter is compatible with Android Auto and Apple Car Play wireless. At the modularity level, the backrests of the rear seats are folding (60:40).
Hybrid engine for the Honda Civic Sedan e:HEV
The mechanical option chosen for Thailand is the same as the hatchback European. It combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with two other electric ones. Thanks to this, it achieves a total power of 184 hp and a maximum torque of 315 Nm. It includes a battery with 72 cells.
This should guarantee sufficient electric mobility on small urban routes (as in the Jazz or HR-V). Although homologation has not yet passed, the firm hopes to achieve emissions of less than 110 g/km of COtwo. This implies an average consumption below 5.0 l/100 km, which is a very contained figure for a car with such a dose of power.
