The Volkswagen ID family is growing like foam and although to date we knew the street versions of the ID3 and ID4, today we have seen the first of the ID 6, the largest model -for the moment- of the electric family of the German manufacturer.
First featured with the futuristic concept SUV ID Roomzz at Shanghai Auto Show Last year, Volkswagen’s largest electric vehicle will offer seven seats and will emphasize spaciousness. Initially it will be sold only in China, but it could be launched in other markets depending on the demand and the needs of the brand.
Although the production designation has not been officially announced, Chinese government patent images reveal that the name ID 6.
Images posted on various Chinese websites show us a design that is based on the ID4, albeit with much larger headlights and a more angular body.
The ID 6 will be the largest model to sit on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB EV platform until the Production version of the ID Buzz arrives in 2022.
Although its commercialization will start at the end of this year we expect a product with more than 300 CV and a 100% electric autonomy that could be around 450 km. The model could be charged to 80% in about half an hour with a 150 kW fast charger.
As soon as we know more details, we will let you know.
