The Keynote “California Streaming”, which was held Tuesday evening, allowed Apple to unveil its new products for the start of the school year. The general public tends to retain the new range of iPhone 13 but also the iPads which have been presented at length. We also got to see the Apple Watch Series 7 in action. Sold for just over 400 euros, it features a revisited format with 40% thinner borders as well as a 70% brighter panel.
35 euros per unit on the Apple site
Another innovation is the arrival of a new USB-C magnetic charger that has been specifically designed for the connected watch. Sold for 35 euros per unit on the Apple brand’s online store, the latter allows the Apple Watch Series 7 to be recharged 33% faster than the current model. Apple even promises an 80% charge in just 45 minutes.
On its site, the tech giant explains:
Just hold the connector near the back of the watch, where magnets automatically snap it into place. It is a completely sealed system with no exposed contacts. And it’s very forgiving, requiring no precise alignment.
Thanks to this reinvented charging architecture, the connected watch therefore offers this technology which will only be accessible to owners of an Apple Watch Series 7.
Note that this new accessory is available now on Apple’s online store but that it will also be provided by default to all watch buyers when it is launched before the end of the fall.
If you weren’t able to attend last night’s event, we’ve put together a very comprehensive summary of this keynote, so don’t hesitate to go and inquire.
