Towards the launch of a new 5G accounting iPhone SE? According to analyst Ross Young, Apple is expected to release a new entry-level model next year. Its main feature: it would be compatible with 5G, which would therefore give access to this new mobile network technology for a more affordable price.
“The cheapest iPhone ever released,” says Ming-Chi Kuo
On his Twitter account, the expert gave some details about the device. In addition to this new connectivity, it would have a 4.7-inch LCD screen similar to that of the iPhone 8. As recalled Appleinsider, this would not necessarily be very surprising when we remember that the Apple brand has already integrated elements of this smartphone in the iPhone SE 2020 and in particular the Touch ID home button as well as a frame with edges rounded.
Another detail provided by Ross Young: this new smartphone would take the name of the iPhone SE Plus. We must believe that this mention surely refers to the arrival of 5G or the implementation of a series A processor, suggest our colleagues.
Note that the analyst is not the first to evoke such a project. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, often very well informed, he would be “ the cheapest iPhone model ever “. For his part, Nikkei Asia, relies on an A15 Bionic chip as well as a shell inspired by the iPhone 8. It is difficult to know the release date but some rumors suggest next spring.
This launch will prefigure that of the iPhone SE 3 which could change its design and be closer to that of the iPhone XR. As a reminder, the latter has a 6.1-inch screen, where the iPhone SE of 2020 was content with 4.7 inches.
