With each generation of iPhone, Apple offers a new chip. And in addition to improving CPU and GPU performance, new iPhone chips generally improve power efficiency, in order to extend battery life.
Also, on the iPhone 14, the A16 Bionic chip is expected to consume less power, compared to the chip of iPhone 13. But in addition to that, we could have an additional gain in autonomy thanks to the new 5G chip of the next series, which will normally be released in September.
iPhone 14: a 5G chip manufactured by TSMC would boost autonomy
This is what is suggested by an article published recently by our colleagues from MacRumours, which relays a publication of the Asian media. This indicates that the TSMC company would manufacture all the 5G chips of the future iPhone 14 series.
The iPhone 14 would benefit as well as the 6 nm engraving technology from this Taiwanese company. However, this technology would not only reduce the size of this component necessary to support 5G, but also reduce energy consumption. Apple could also use the space saved to equip its smartphones with larger batteries.
Note that still according to the MacRumours article, in terms of connectivity, the iPhone 14 series could also benefit from Wifi 6E.
iPhone 14: production trials will begin soon
Note that according to a recent rumor, Apple has already finalized the design of its next iPhone. Also, according to a source that we recently relayed, the production tests have already started. These tests will allow the firm’s partners to improve the assembly process, before moving on to mass production.
Since the iPhone 13 series was just an improved version of the iPhone 12 series, it is expected that the iPhones that will be released in the second half of the year will enjoy more novelties. In particular, the iPhone 14 Pro is highly anticipated, since according to numerous leaks, the screen of this model (and of the iPhone 14 Pro Max) would not have a notch.
iPhone 14 Pro: screen without notch, 48 megapixel camera and 8 GB RAM memory?
Apple would not abandon facial recognition with Face ID, however. But instead of being placed on a notch, the front sensors would be positioned on a pill-shaped location.
Another important new feature: on the iPhone 14 Pro, the camera would have a 48-megapixel main sensor, instead of the traditional 12-megapixel sensor. Additionally, the iPhone 14 series Pro models are said to have 8GB of RAM.
Of course, at the moment, this information is not official. But what is certain is that Apple will surprise us.
