The Mercedes AMG EQE they are already a reality. The firm of the star has presented its new electric sedan in its two most performance versions. As we have already seen, compared to the EQS, the EQE is even more streamlined, with a slightly shorter wheelbase, shorter overhangs and narrower flanks. AMGs have some unique elements.
Exterior styling changes are relatively subtle. We can appreciate a fully enclosed grill featuring AMG badging and vertical chrome accents. We also find a sportier front bumper. This combines body-color accents with high-gloss black paint and chrome trim.
Buyers will also find a front splitter, aerodynamically optimized rims and a larger rear spoiler. This reduces lift without significantly increasing drag. In the passenger compartment there are AMG sports seats. They are upholstered in Artico artificial leather, with microfiber inserts and contrasting red stitching.
As an option we can also opt for the traditional Nappa leather. AMG variants feature a flattened sports steering wheel, sports pedals, AMG floor mats, and plenty of AMG badging. Of course, these EQEs can be equipped with the Optional MBUX Hyperscreen. It consists of three separate screens, including one for the passenger.
Two mechanical options for the Mercedes-AMG EQE
Baptized as Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4MATIC and Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+, both stand out for their performance. ANDhe EQE 43 4MATIC features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that develops 476 hp (350kW) and 858Nm of maximum torque. It allows the model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is 210 km/h.
Power comes from a lithium-ion battery pack. 90.6 kWh. Provides autonomy between 462 and 533 kilometers with a single charge in WLTP cycle. As standard, it equips an 11 kW charger, but as an option we can choose a 22 kW charger. The fast charging capacity of up to 170 kW allows charging 180 km in just 15 minutes.
With respect to EQE 53 4MATIC+This features an upgraded dual-motor four-wheel drive system. Delivers a combined power of 626 hp (460 kW) and 950Nm of maximum torque. This reduces 0 to 100 km/h to 3.5 seconds. Top speed increases to 220 km/h. However, autonomy is reduced to a range between 444 and 518 kilometers.
Customers can further extend the performance figures by opting for the AMG Dynamic Plus package. This increases the power 687 hp (505 kW) and 1,000Nm of torque. Thanks to this we speak of a 0 to 100 km / h in 3.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of 240 km / h. Both models have AMG-specific electric motors.
Among the highlights are the so-called AMG-specific water lances and cooling elements. This is the case of the special ribs on the stator and a «needle-shaped pin-end structure in the inverter, which is made of high-performance ceramic«.

Power limits depending on the selected mode
The Mercedes-AMG EQE have various driving modes. modes Sport Y Sports+ further optimize performance. On the other hand, the way Comfort helps optimize range by reducing power by 15-20%. The mode slippery it also cuts the power in half. You can see a summary in the table.

The battery of the Mercedes-AMG EQE
One of the highlights of the new AMG EQE is that autonomy could be improved in the future. The company notes that it is possible to install updates to the battery management system over the air. This promises “continuous improvements throughout the life cycle” vehicle.
Engineers also focused on increasing battery life. The EQE has a eco charging function. Is “reduces the load on the battery during charging and thus slows down the natural aging process of the battery«. Also, there is a “charge interrupt” function which can be used to charge the battery in the cheapest hours.
Mercedes-Benz has also noted that the battery can be preheated or cooled while driving to prepare for fast charging. AMG variants have three levels of energy recovery. They can be adjusted via the steering wheel. This allows the one-pedal drivingas well as an optimized slowdown when the DrivePilot.
The tuning of the electric AMGs
The Mercedes-AMG EQE have a AMG Ride Control+ air suspension with adaptive damping. They join “AMG-specific wheel carriers, suspension rods and stabilizer bars with increased stiffness”. For contact with the ground we have Michelin Pilot Sport EVs designed for high-performance electric vehicles.
Another notable aspect is the rear axle steering system, standard on both models. It allows the rear wheels to turn up to 3.6 degrees to improve handling at speeds above 60 km/h. At lower speeds, the front and rear wheels can turn in opposite directions to maximize maneuverability.
According to the manufacturer, the AMG versions of the EQE also have a “unique sound experience”. This is created with the help of special speakers, a bass actuator and a sound generator. As standard it is the Authentic configuration, but the AMG Dynamic Plus package of the EQE 53 adds a Performance version.
Regarding the brake equipment, the AMG EQE are equipped with six-piston front calipers and 415mm front discs. They promise to offerfirst-class deceleration values with high fade resistance”. They are complemented by single-piston calipers and 378mm discs in diameter at the rear.
Customers who want to take their electric to the track can opt for the AMG carbon-ceramic braking system optional. It requires the 21-inch alloy wheels to be fitted, but they are fitted with larger, thicker front discs measuring 440 by 40mm.
