We already know the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 2022. The first high-performance variant of the eighth-generation Corvette is the first mid-engined Z06 in the brand’s history. Production will begin in the summer of 2022 at the Bowling Green, Kentucky plant and will be offered left and right hand drive.
Available as coupe and how convertible, visually differs from the standard model thanks to the widened fenders and body panels. Altogether, it widens a total of 9.4 centimeters. Also the tires are bigger. As standard equips some Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Zp.

With the added width and new Corvette C8.R-inspired front end, the Z06 is capable of optimize cooling high-revving engine, brakes, and transaxle. They all work better for longer. Thanks to the new front splitter and rear spoiler, get 165.6 kg of downforce at 299.3 km / h.
The carbon fiber package optional add a larger divisor, canards up front, a biblically proportioned rear wing and aerodynamic strakes under the body for maximum downforce and greater maneuverability. Inside, we see materials premium light, but luxurious.
Offered is a steering wheel wrapped in carbon fiber, matching the gearshift paddles and moldings. There are seven interior leather colors, three seat options, six seat belts, two carbon fiber trim packages and an aluminum package.
Powerful V8 mechanics
In the bowels of the Corvette Z06 we find the 5.5-liter V8 engine with flat crank and natural aspiration. Known internally as LT6, it has a redline at 8,600 rpm and produces 679 hp (500 kW) and 623 Nm of torque at 6,300 rpm. To achieve better performance, Chevrolet opted for a lightweight crankshaft design and a relatively short stroke.
For its approach to the track, it also has a dry sump lubrication system inherited from the competition. The mechanics are made entirely of aluminum. The new dual overhead camshaft heads have been designed with fully CNC machined intake ports and combustion chambers. The camshaft covers are painted Edge Red.
We also found forged aluminum pistons and forged titanium connecting rods, which provide less mass and greater resistance. The active split intake manifold has twin 87mm throttle bodies, while the exhaust gases pass through the stainless steel exhaust headers via sodium-filled exhaust valves.

The suspension scheme is retained, but the front and rear suspension has been fine-tuned for a sportier approach. The Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 It comes standard and can be adjusted to the driver’s needs. There is also the Launch Control, active steering, traction control, Performance Traction and an electronic limited-slip differential.
Regarding the brakes, we find Brembo discs from 370 mm diameter in front and 380 mm behind. The calipers have six pistons at the front and four at the rear. They are available in six colors, which can be combined with seven wheel options. Thanks to all the improvements, it is able to withstand 1.22 g lateral acceleration in curves.
