The fifth edition of the sports compact has its speed electronically limited to 250 km / h. In fact, the Golf R can be optionally ordered with a ‘R-Performance’ package; that raises the maximum speed to 270 km / h.
The Golf R features a newly designed all-wheel drive with selective wheel torque control on the rear axle, called 4MOTION with R-Performance Torque Vectoring. In this case, the transmission force is distributed by a rear final group not only between the front and rear axles, but also between the two rear wheels. In this way, the agility of the Golf R can be significantly increased, especially when cornering. Additionally, as a world first, all-wheel drive is interconnected via a Gear Dynamics Manager with other undercarriage systems such as Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) and DCC Adaptive Suspension.

In the specific mechanical table you can see a motor 2.0 TSI inline four cylinder that offers 245 kW of power (329 hp) that also develops 420 Nm of torque.
This new mechanical variant carries the codename of DNFF and could be the expected Golf R Plus.
Also the model could have a sportier differential, a new adjustment of the traction -which we hope is 4MOTION- and a Drift Mode.
