After what happened, there would be a possibility that the actor loses his statuette for his bad behavior. A source revealed to the New York Post that there is a code of conduct maintained by the Academy and that Smith would have violated with his attitude.

According to a report by Variety, in 2017 the director of the Hollywood Academy, Dawn Hudson, established that “in addition to achieving excellence in the field of cinematographic arts and sciences, members must also behave ethically when defending the values of the Academy of respect for human dignity, inclusion and a supportive environment that fosters creativity.”
