What do these cars of the State Mobile Park paint "like new" in a junkyard?

Surely, in the last few days you have received a video on your mobile that tells us about Desguaces El Rubio and on an alleged multitude of vehicles from the State Mobile Park.

Before going into assessing whether or not it is time to change cars and spend more taxpayer money on renewing the fleet, let’s put ourselves in context. Every year the BOE publishes a series of auctions of State assets auctioned by the Treasury.

Well, last year – specifically at the end of June -, the BOE published a total of 7 lots of vehicles auctioned by the Treasury and from the PME. In total we talk about 234 vehicles Among which we find armored Peugeot 407, Peugeot 607, Lancia Thesis, Nissan Patrol, Volvo S80, Ford Monedo, Honda brand motorcycles, Fiat Scudo, Peugeot Partner, Lancia Phedra, Citroën Berlingo, Renault Master, Ford Transit, Ford Focus and some more.

The vehicles were auctioned as scrap metal and as we could see in the descriptions, some units were missing parts that the PME had left for repairs to other units in the fleet.

As they have published in some portals who have spoken with those responsible for the Ministry and scrapping, these are vehicles that are over 13 years old on averageThey have high mileage – in some cases greater than 200,000 km – and diesel mechanics with an ecological sticker B and are “highly polluting”.

I insist that I am not going to get into whether or not it is the moment and if it is well done or badly done, but you have to know that this “confiscation” of vehicles falls within what they have called Plan to promote the value chain of the automotive industry to strengthen the automotive industry, in line with the Ecological Transition Policies.

The auction was published in the BOE on June 22, 2020 and the vehicles began arriving at their new destinations weeks ago. Although the cars are apparently well cared for – they are escort vehicles, high-ranking officials and in general for travel by authorities or security – the Ministry insists that they are amortized in the accounting.

Although I have not given you my opinion about it, what do you think?
