“CODA” was the production that shone the most at the 2022 Oscar Awards, taking the highest award: Best Film of the Year. The film in which Eugenio Derbez works moved everyone with a plot that invites reflection and addresses a daily theme for many people but about which little is talked about.
The Oscar-winning film tells the story of Ruby, a young woman who is the only hearing person in a deaf family. It is a dramatic comedy in which the protagonist finds herself in a dilemma between staying to help her family business and pursuing her dream of being a singer. The plot takes place in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
“CODA” is the abbreviation for “Child of Deaf Adults” which in Spanish translates as “boy/girl who grew up with deaf parents. The tape can be seen on Amazon Prime Video.
CODA won every category it was nominated in: Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actor.
