When did Cepillín die and why?

Ricardo González Gutiérrez, better known as “Cepillín”, was a legendary clown who conquered thousands of fans in Mexico until last year when he unfortunately passed away.

The artist lost his life on March 8, 2021, at the age of 75, due to cardiorespiratory arrest after the spinal surgery he underwent, where cancer was detected. When the news was known, his son Ricardo González Jr. spoke to the press and said that the doctors managed to “get him out” of respiratory arrest but that despite this, Cepillín “was already very deteriorated.” “The best thing was to talk to him and tell him not to fight anymore because it wasn’t worth it (…) he gave him all the desire because he wanted to get ahead,” he said, visibly distressed.

The singer of the smallest had to go through various health problems throughout his life due to his addiction to tobacco (which he smoked for more than four decades). “I have already had three heart attacks, I am 70 years old and God has given me a lot of overtime,” he said in 2016. Despite this, he was always happy and willing to enjoy life.

In addition to his work in the show, González studied dentistry and that’s where he found the inspiration for his nickname. “Cepillín” refers to toothbrushes, and it was intended that children would not be afraid to go to the office to check themselves, according to “Ventaneando”.

Cepillín asked that his ashes rest in the Basilica of Guadalupe.

The wife of the legendary artist is called Aidé Guajardo de González
