As part of the development of the Business Unit, Alpine, Renault and Lotus They have signed a memorandum of understanding to study a number of areas of cooperation, including the joint development of an electric sports car.
The Alpine and Lotus teams will conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for the joint engineering, design and development of an electric sports car taking advantage of the resources, experience and facilities of the respective entities in both France and the United Kingdom.
A collaboration is also being studied to take advantage of Alpine’s motorsports platform spanning from Formula One to Formula E and endurance.
During the presentation of the Group’s Strategic Plan, Alpine and Lotus confirmed to us that they will join forces in the development of a new electric sports car that will be the successor to the Alpine A110.
The new machine is one of the three expected models confirmed for Alpine, which is being reinvented by the parent company as an exclusively electric premium brand with a focus on ‘cutting edge’ models.
The firm has also confirmed that it will launch a new compact electric sports car and a C-segment crossover.
We know little else about the agreement in question and the result, but we already know that in addition Renualt Sport and everything that has to do with Alianza sporting events will be under the Alpine umbrella.
