Xbox Series X and PS5 controllers are supported

The first versions of the developer beta for iOS 14.5 were released yesterday. This is also the case for updates to other iPadOS 14.5, tvOS 14.5 and watchOS 7.4 OS. You can also find our article on the subject here.

Compatibility with the iPad is also planned

Among the novelties of these new versions, we note in particular the support for the controllers of the PS5 (sold € 69.99) and the Xbox Series X (€ 59.99). You can therefore play one of the compatible games on the App Store or on Apple Arcade.

At the same time, we learned that these controllers will be usable on the iPad with the update iPadOS 14.5 and most likely on Apple TV with tvOS 14.5. For now this feature is reserved for developers and it will therefore be necessary to show a little patience before the release of the version dedicated to the general public.

Finally, note that this update includes other rather surprising new features. This is the case of unlocking the iPhone while wearing a mask (with an Apple Watch on the wrist). AirPlay 2 support for Fitness + is also included, as well as family sharing support for the Apple Card.
